Victoria Williams: 0045
Either I have a bad case of dandruff today, or my hair is covered in cherry blossom from the trees where I work. That’s right readers, I slave outdoors now – but not on anyone’s orders, I don’t work for the man. I toil in the sun (growing cucumbers – yes really) for myself and my family. My labour is my own; I do not transfer my life and body to the bourgeoisie. In truth I have never looked worse: my hair is so atrocious these days I have it permanently tied up in a knot – even if I untied it, I think it would retain its shape. My skin is burnt, my eyes are tired. I think I’m even developing a callous on my hand, of which – if it does appear – I will be enormously proud. In truth, I have never felt better.
